Hardly anyone knows who Carl Eugene Watts is

Wow ... had forgotten all about him.

I was living in Italy when they finally caught him but I have family in Mississippi and Texas and a close friend I was stationed with from Michigan who were telling me all about it even then. I remember seeing the report about him on Channel 1 in Italy when he was caught too ... he was wicked as frick.

it's likely that the unsubs are very skilled in forensic countermeasures, so not much of a data base on them

You actually make a very good point.

I was reading this article the other day about serial killers evolving faster than forensic technology mainly because of all the crime shows on TV such as NCIS and Forensic Files among others.

While DNA evidence has changed things in the past two decades, serial killers and murderers in general have upped their game and are leaving far fewer clues.

Serial killers are interesting because they murder with purpose much as rogue animals do when they turn into man eaters for whatever reasons.

Except, of course, serial killers are human by nature and usually far more intelligent and able to reason-out their modus operandi in a premeditated fashion.

So, apparently, there is some trend now with 1000s more unsolved murders happening that may signal an uptick in serial killer related murders in this country.

Should we take this as a sign that immigration is playing a key factor in all of this? I mean there are some heinous mass murders taking place in Mexico right now that include beheadings and dismembering of bodies. It's been going on in Africa forever.

I dunno. So much information is never shared with we normal civilians.
