same for me. I downloaded a "fan" app that makes different fan noises for when I go to a hotel.
Thanks for the tip. I have to have some noise going on. A ceiling fan is perfect but a window unit is second. For some reason the units in hotels don't quite cut it for me. I never sleep very well in a hotel.

My humidifier puts me right to sleep.

I always sleep well in hotels. I think it's the blackout curtains and turning down the a/c to about 65.

Sleep Machine. Has a timer, so I start it, usually mix Wind and Fan, and let it run for an hour. Then it stops to save battery.
It is a travel necessity for hotel rooms where the fan turns off when the AC reaches room temp. No "On" position, just "Auto".

I'm a silent person, but I really don't care.

It's much better than headphones.
That. Is. Awesome. Thanks for your answer.

We rock the ocean sound app, along with a fan.

Jet, Do you have any appreciable loss of hearing with that or clicking sounds?

Yes. I do it with my laptop and netflix occasionally. It's much better than headphones.
man, I know you would rather have normal hearing, but that is about the coolest thing I have ever heard of...I can't say the idea would have ever popped into my head...genius...

Not that I can tell. Years of playing a high-pitched instrument without earplugs couldn't have been good though...

Actually, I love the setup I have now. I get the best of both worlds.

Can sleep anywhere, anyhow.
Prefer to sleep with white noise or fan or something.

I prefer dead silence in a pitch black room but I can also sleep through anything

I wish I would have been better educated about that sort of thing at a younger age. I didn't take it seriously.
