Here is something you might not realize

The paper gets the arrest report, and when you are arrested, you get charged with as many as you have been arrested for initially, but not convicted.

So it is possible he has never been convicted of a DUI, but arrested 5 times prior. This will be charged in the paper and at his bond hearing for a 6th, and downgraded by the DA before arraignment Into a first offense.

Also, even if he has been convicted of any prior, they disappear after 10 years.

All that is true. Also, I guarantee that cop started salivating when he ran the name check and saw 5 previous arrests.

another thing about what the paper prints: if you are found innocent of a crime that will never be printed. but the charges will forever be online.

so if someone googles a name, the charges will show up but not the final results. I know a guy that had a job offer retracted after a domestic violence charge was found online. he was found innocent, and actually he was determined to be the victim.

I have been saying for years that something needs to be changed with this. Lets say a child gets mad at a parent and accuses them of some sort of abuse. All because at the moment they are mad about a punishment or something. Parent will likely get arrested and its plastered all over the papers and news sites. After a investigation it all proves to be bullshite. No one ever hears about that part. The persons reputation is ruined, because a seed has been planted in people's minds. They shouldn't be able to publish names until someone is convicted.

in the same ballpark, I think rape is horrendous.

but falsely accusing someone of rape is almost as damaging

2 ways you get away with breaking laws. Have a shite pile of money and a good lawyer or have absolutely nothing. If you don't own anything or have any money they will just toss you back out on the street because they can't get anything out of you. If you make a decent living and work hard they will lock you away and bleed you dry.
