I went about a year and a half ago and stayed within walking distance of that area. I think we were there for about 5 days, walked 36 miles, and still didn't see everything. The museums, the art, the architecture, it was all incredible. We went during December so got to experience the Christmas markets as well.

I had no idea what to expect when visiting but I was truly blown away.

The only bad part was we were there when Bashar al-Assad fled Syria and there were a frick ton of "future doctors and engineers" all gathering in the city marching and cheering. I was a little uneasy during that time, to say the least, and kept my head on a swivel.

Everywhere around there was very busy with cool events. Open air concerts, dance recitals, plays, food festivals, etc.

When I was there it was almost 100% Aryan. I saw the nest of 1 homeless but didn't see any of those either.
