Elon talks about this all the time- every factory job creates a resulting 4 other jobs for services that those people need.
Is your argument that more law abiding citizens don't boost an economy? Or are you arguing that they wouldn't boost the economy the moment they step off the plane?
Again- I'm not saying this is some foolproof master plan that will turn Louisiana into Florida in 6 months.
I'm asking if it's a step in the right direction to bring over law-abiding, American loving, English speaking citizens, legal immigrants into our state to try and invest into our state and be better tomorrow than we are today.
Also why not partner with Elon Musk? Tell him we'll take 38,213 acre Russel Sage WMA in Rayville and reduce it to 38,000 acres and we're going to sell it to South African immigrants at a reduced rate, the funds will be immediately distributed to all citizens of Richland Parish and see if you could entice Elon to set up a manufacturing plant in Monroe or do it near Shreveport or lake Charles are wherever?
We could just do nothing, which is what will happen but if we ever want Louisiana to improve then we have to be creative.

Not that I disagree with your sentiment, but Disney was never coming to the NS.
That's why they made him a honorary citizen of New Orleans and why he was seriously considering the north shore to build Disney world. He X'd it off the list after dealing with Louisiana politicians. From a logistical standpoint - New Orleans metro was much more attractive than central Florida in the 1960s.
You don't know and I don't know what would have happened in the long run but we do know one thing for certain - corrupt politicians with their hands out is exactly why New Orleans was removed from their list.

not on here advocating for higher taxes but to import potential legal immigrants with similar cultural values and help boost some of these areas with the kind of people you need to built them into a better, more prosperous place.

Then you have to deal with the disadvantages of where you choose to live, and stop begging people that don't live there, or even drive through there, to subsidize your choices.
I am not arguing for that. I'm asking should we try to incentivize South African immigrants to come to Louisiana. Not buying them free land, paying for their healthcare snd giving them food stamps (like we are with the Hondurans in Kenner)
I'm saying we should make it well known that they are welcome, potentially if the state owns land that's underutilized in poorer communities - offer it to them at a discounted market rate and then take whatever money from The govement owned land sold and then give it back to the citizens of that parish.
Logistically I don't know if it's feasible or not, but stop pretending like I'm arguing for communism and higher taxes. I'd rather a more educated, harder working populous so we could one day not pay any state income taxes.

All jokes aside as long as you don’t live in a hood neighborhood in a town in Louisiana things are way way safer here than in SA. I mean, they have roaming gangs, jumping off fences to invade homes and kill people at night.

I wish there was a cease fire agreement that - all hostages are release and Israel should leave Gaza. The damage was excessive and I hate seeing children murdered. Innocent lives being lost is disgusting and awful the worst thing that could possibly happen.
Insurgent math is real as well so Israel is creating more issues for themselves than they're solving.
But I'm an American and I think we shouldn't be involved unless Israel's existence and people are in real danger (Iran gets a nuke) but outside of that it's not my country and it's not my place to tell anyone how they should retaliate or fight a war unless we're funding it but I am a Christian so I don't want to see Jerusalem destroyed by radical Islamist.
