A couple of weeks ago I reported to animal control a sick mange coyote in our neighborhood. I was told there is nothing they could do. Told me to hire a private trapper.

Last week outside of JAlexanders I witnessed an elderly man being physically abused by his caregiver as they were leaving. I was able to get the license plate number. I called several agencies to report this and was told there was nothing they could do even with the plate number. They asked why I didn't get the name, phone number, and address of the caregiver. Really?

I know this is becoming the norm in this day in age but it sucks none the less.

You've never called the police in Baton Rouge, have you?

It's like calling the DMV.

Report an accident, and the fire department will show up in minutes. Ambulance shortly after. Police might show up in 30-40 minutes.

Unless it's one of their own t-boning you at a major intersection. Then they show up in less than two minutes.

Course, it takes them 10-15 minutes before they'll check to see if you are okay.

At least they didnt send the cops out for the coyote. They may have shot your dog instead.

I just mind my own business nowadays

Not worth the trouble of getting involved in the situation or even calling the cops. Law enforcement officers in EBR are close to worthless.

It's called cutting their budgets so severely that they can't handle the over load.

One task force had everybody in it making over $100,000 a year.

That task force is paid through a grant from the highway safety commission unless I'm mistaken.
