Someone with shingles can give somebody else chickenpox. You can't give them shingles. Shingles is reactivation of the chickenpox virus in someone that has previously had chickenpox.

Same here. I thought I had strained my back carrying stuff at work. The initial rash started a few days later under my arm so I thought it was just a reaction to the new deodorant I was using. It took about week for it to really kick in before I realized I was in a bad way and needed a doctor.
