Seven arrested at New Black Panther Party protest at BRPD

Seven people were arrested Wednesday when they tried to march through a barricade line at Baton Rouge police headquarters during a demonstration to remember Alton Sterling, killed a year ago during a struggle with two police officers.
Sgt. L'Jean McKneely, a police spokesman, said the seven will be booked into Parish Prison on counts of entering and remaining after being forbidden and resisting an officer.
A crew with Pulpa Film, a European documentary company, accompanied members of the New Black Panther Party, McKneely said. At least one of the people arrested was wearing a microphone.
McKneely also said the protesters did not have a permit to protest.
Four men and three women were arrested, though police did not yet release their names.
