You mean the eyewitness accounts and video aren't enough?

If that were my standard, I'd also believe in ghosts, the Loch Ness Monster, and hot lesbians.

ETA: the guy was a fighter in the competition and not someone that knew Bruce personally or who was brought for the demonstrations. Bruce did demonstrations at various tournaments as he was invited.

Victor Moore. One of the baddest mfers of the time.

The events in the video aren't really distorted. And I'm looking for it, gimme a minute.

Dude, you could have just reposted it with less effort than this response. Sorry, I made it 16 pages in and jumped to the end.

That's a demonstration. I'm looking for an actual fight.

Oh dear god...the speed is the speed. And he also lived in a time where if something wasn't televised, there wasn't going to be a video of it.

ETA: This is video, likely the best you'll get since nobody was packing an iPhone on the streets. And the person he demonstrated against was a trained competitor at the competition. There are also videos of him sparring/practicing wing chun that shows amazing speed. "Bruce Lee Wing Chun" will turn up said examples.

Seriously? There is an absurd amount of 60's-70's fighters on youtube. What there is not, is video of Bruce Lee in an actual fight. And "speed is the speed" means nothing when you are essentially going through a routine.

That would also be called training, which is what people do in prep for the real thing. Wouldn't be much different than Tyson knocking a 100lb bag off the ceilng. You wouldn't doubt that if he punched you it'd hurt. That demonstration of strength is as much evidence as this one of Bruce's speed as it would apply to a fight.

Those people in the 60-70s were professional fighters. Bruce Lee did not do competitions because his martial art wasn't compatible with fighting and NOT handicapping the other person by taking out their eyes, punching the throat, etc. And it really isn't, I can vouch for that because I'm learning the same thing.

Yes, but we have actual evidence that Mike Tyson was a fearsome "real life" fighter. We don't have that for Bruce Lee. We have highly choreographed fight scenes and exercise videos. I don't get why this is hard to understand. Mike Tyson is a proven badass. Bruce Lee was awesome, but we have no proof that he was any more than a highly disciplined individual. Bruce Lee MIGHT whoop Tysons' arse, but there is no reason to think so based on the available evidence.

Valid point on Tyson, but I disagree on how available evidence might reflect on Bruce Lee's ability in a real fight. That evidence is the result of Bruce Lee's training for real life-threatening fights, and in movies it's just prettied up for film(basically what he said in an interview). But it is what it is. I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree, my friend.

Edited to add a thought.

I donno. Still trying to picture Bruce Lee fighting either one of these guys.

It would take a video game mashup (although Bruce Lee is obviously far superior to Liu Kang)

Or maybe Balrog v Liu Kang
