Selling a totalled out vehicle in Baton Rouge

Buddy has a 2009 Chevy Tahoe that got hit in the front right wheel and then pushed into a tree. He only had comp and the vehicle isn't worth fixing so he is stuck with a non-driveable vehicle.
He asked me what I thought he should do with it and, knowing the depth of knowledge of the OT, I thought I would ask. I have not a clue. FWIW, donating for a tax write off isn't of value to him.

Probably need to get a salvage title before you get rid of it in any capacity.

When the vehicle is sold it will come with a designated salvage title.

You take the original title to OMV and apply for a salvage title, $76.50.
That way wherever the vehicle ends up you are covered from any liability.
You want to know whoever takes possession of it that it has been totaled.

Part it out?
Or just sell to a salvage yard?
Was honestly hoping someone had done this and could offer a one stop solution. I don't see taking the car apart and putting individual parts on Ebay.

You have no idea what a salvage yard will do with it.
You would think they would not repair it and resell it but who knows.
That's why you give them the salvage title and not an original title.
Generally that is what you do and they can cannibalize it for parts.
