It's why I laugh when people suggest to just "start your own YouTube if you don't like what they're doing."

Why laugh? It's never been easier or cheaper to start a high quality streaming network.

And where does the content of that streaming network reside? And what happens when the company where it resides decides it doesn't like your content?

The data can reside on Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, and many other services. If any cloud provider starts screwing its users, the users move away quickly (and pretty easily). Netflix streaming was run on AWS for years. Some of it may still be, I don't keep up with Netflix. The point is, Amazon didn't shut down Netflix services even though Prime video is a direct competitor. That's not how cloud services work. No developer is going to stay on a cloud platform that messes with its users. Shutting down a competitor would be monumentally stupid and short-sighted.

1. There are not "many others" who can support a large streaming service.
2. What happens when these cloud service providers all decide they don't like your content? I'm not talking competitive service, I'm talking the actual content.
