I live in Napa and have CA plates, and was parked across the street from the Ferry Building when someone busted the rear window of my FJ and pulled out a huge suitcase. I really do not see how they got it out. Must have stood on the bumped and heaved with all their might.
While looking into the repair, i learned that SF has thousands of car break-ins every year. Dozens every day. You just can't leave anything of value in your car, no matter where you are parked. Put it in the trunk, if you have one. Unfortunately, FJ has no trunk.

What's the point here? That eggheads on exist online? Subtle San Fransisco commentary?

A guy from SF came to give a presentation to my company. We took him out in Deep Elum for lunch afterwards and he started pulling all of his suitcases out. WE told him to leave them in the car, they're safe. He was shocked that nobody wouldn't steal them, even in broad daylight.
A friend of mine moved to SF for a year. He said it's the scariest place he's ever lived and he's from Philly and now lives in NYC. His car go broken into 4 times in that 1 year he lived there.

This is true, especially in high-tourist and high-traffic areas.
Never leave shite in your car if you are here. Nada. Nothing.
