I haven't followed this thread very closely yet so maybe this has been discussed already.
But a category 1 or 2 hurricane, heading due west into Lake Pontchartrain, would probably be pretty damaging to the south and west shores as well as upriver on the Amite River due to surge.
A few years ago I got completely obliterated here for mentioning the possibility of a significant storm surge event from Ascension through BR in the event a category 2 or higher hurricane took that track. I'm in no way hoping that happens but it blows my mind that as rare of a track as that would be, we are looking at that possibility with this one. Just need to know the strength at landfall.

I'm sure you have a gen in NOLA, so it'll be fine.
Be safe, it's all that matters, no matter what BLM says.

Northshore as well.
Probably so. The entire area would probably be affected in a big way if that were to happen.

Get ready for another hurricane. That thing is gonna' blow up when it hits the warmer water of the gulf.

We won’t really have an idea of the strength or where this thing is going until tomorrow night or Sunday morning huh?

Maybe the admins are like me...they see rds dc or Duke start a weather thread and want to keep it easy to find. Those guys are very good on weather threads.

Follow the NHC forecast over individual model runs. We should all still have our preps leftover from Laura so just sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride.

No, I ended up eating my Golden Oreos. I'll have to stock back up tomorrow. Thanks for the reminder.....for everyone...make sure you have a battery operated radio, batteries, flashlights/fleshlights depending on your individual needs.
