What the frick. Tbird I know you are smarter than that. The Confederate States were happy being their own country, Lincoln and big money Northerners wanted the goods produced by the South to be back in the Union because the industries in the North were wholly dependent on them and the rise in cost associated with dealing with tariffs or new countries would slow the growth. It also opened up the CSA to compete with the Union in short manor as both an industrial and military power if they did not invade and overtake the country in short order.
