I know nobody else cares, but it didn't just "explode." I hate this about writers. The Japanese sank it. People will claim I'm being pedantic, I'm sure, but nobody reads more than the byline unless they're brunching on a Sunday. Nobody reads anything longer than two sentences except for old dudes like moi.

Call it what it is, up front. Who writes articles about merchant ships slipping beneath the waves due to German submarine activity in the Atlantic? It's horseshite.
