Fairhope which while really nice can be quite cliquish and snooty.

a lot of that in hellabama, which is kind of funny to me

I have a niece that lives there and absolutely there are quite a few noses in the air.

Lots of great recs in this thread, but a few are missing:

Cafe Lynne in Mandeville - Does not get enough attention. We go there at least 2/month. Great and consistent food, awesome menu, and very reasonably priced. We like to sit and eat at the bar, bartenders are super friendly.

Grapeful Ape - Very cool craft cocktail bar in old Mandeville right by Nuvolaris. Bar and sofa/lounge seating. Chill atmosphere with occasional live music.

Northstar Theater in old Mandeville - Live music venue, all reserved seating, seats tiered stadium style, only about 100 seats, and really good music lineup. As a result tickets a little pricier, but you definitely get what you pay for.

Duman in Mandeville - Turkish/Mediterranean food and our favorite pizza spot.
