It also won't try to put you in the fence when you get up in the revs.

So you've got that going for you.

Very true, I remember the s2k days when you had to balance heavy corners with making sure you don’t hit 5.5k rpm until the rear is pointed out of the corner. Now the power is much more linear throughout the rpm range.

Also reminds me of the Honda VFR 800 motorcycle….still not widely known, but a hoot, and will be a collector…and you also had to be careful of things “kicking in”

Yeah, I'm on MINI number three. Unfortunately, MINI no longer offers a six speed manual Cooper. The latest redesign wiped out a lot of what I love about MINIs. Every generation has seen them get bigger and blander. If I were buying a driver's car today I would get a Porsche Cayman S.

My son wanted one as a first car. I bought a loaded 2011 Mini S with a bad engine for 2500 and rebuilt it. I’ve got about 4k total in that car and it’s an absolute blast to drive.

They are so much fun, I just bought a 2015 Mini Coupe JCW. It’s amazing to drive and will scoot. Handles like a dream. For a low cost good time, they are hard to beat. Keep up on the maintenance and they are not too bad. Also, they are pretty easy to work on if you are handy.

To be fair, I’d be a buyer if they had focused on something special over something mass produced (that is, making something more fun to drive than the s2000). Hard to believe they haven’t over that many decades.

This is where I lose credibility from being honest: never driven one.

But, looking at the paper specs and reviews on YT, it’s clear not many Miata drivers have ever driven an s2000, let alone hard.

I own an Integra Type S as well,

Me too brother. An apex blue. I absolutely love it. Tried to get a Type R for like 18 months but wasn’t willing to pay a mark up and was always a day late on one at MSRP.

Looking back now I wouldn’t trade my Integra for the Civic. I’ll take the better exhaust, slight power bump, and better interior creature comforts.

Just put some slotted rotors, DOT4, and track pads on last weekend. Ready to rip now. Need to get a track day.

I will say it still isn’t scratching the high revving NA Vtec nostalgia itch. I may end up with an 8th gen SI or S2k before it’s all said and done.

So for OP, I’d suggest a 3rd S2000.

You probably look at big trucks and imagine/envy pecker sizes

It is one the few cars that you can DD, throw a set of tires on it, track it, put the street tires back on, and DD it to work.

They were, maybe still are, bulletproof.

Relax guy it was a joke. Miatas are actually very fun to drive. They're just not very practical for most people. And for the record, my truck is medium sized just like my pecker

Mine was too.

Humor is lacking these days on the OT
