Can't he just plug holes letting the water in with statue parts?

Would be hilarious to see Mitch in a backhoe placing the Robert E. Lee statue in to temporarily bring the flooding to a standstill while the pumps were fixed.

Prime time hurricane season in New Orleans:

Multiple pumps broken
Multiple pumps down for maintenance
Multiple pumps not turned on
Not enough power to run some pumps
Known faulty wiring causes massive logistics nightmare fire that wipes out pumping capacity.
Catch basins clogged
Other catch basins paved over.

City Council official statement:
Who is responsible for this! Shouldn't someone be checking on city matters? We promise the citizens we will punish those responsible. Someone must be responsible! Like some kind of elected council! Where are those responsible! We will find who is responsible for making sure the city is prepared! Please please please forget it is us.

Mitch Landrieu official statement:
I'm going to get to the bottom of this. I'm out of town but when I get back I'll order a report. Please forget one of my campaign promises was to fix the faulty wiring and the other one was to clean the catch basins. frick you citizens. frick every one of you. I did just fire that one fall guy that was promoted 3 hours ago after the guy actually responsible retired. Are you happy yet? What if I build a water feature monument to Katrina on top of the Lee's circle pedestal for 18 million dollars? I'll do that if you don't bitch and moan about all the other shite I should do with that money.

It's going to be comical when it barely rains and Mitch had all schools canceled and all these parents had to find child care and miss work for it.

Mitch and the City Council are tripling down on stupidity, but they have no choice at this point a faulty wiring fire burned out something like 80% of the city's pumping capacity last night.

How long will that take to fix?

He was never out the lead.

Broome is an incompetent moron, but she's not going to actually physically destroy the city with her incompetence.

Mitch purposefully and knowingly sold his city out for his own federal political aspirations and might end up destroying parts of it and he has yet to show a spec of care or remorse.

If only the smart people that were so insulted by the statues hadn't left, they could have kept the pumps in good working order.

Please, please come back home! We need you.

Coordinated a massive multimillion dollar effort using public funds in one day to remove 4 statues.

Forgot to get the pumps working before hurricane season and still hasn't made good on his campaign promise to clean the catch basins.

I can't wait for Mardi Gras.
