The amount you're drinking isn't what makes you an alcoholic. The fact that you can't hold off on drinking while KNOWING that you'll be tested for it is what makes you an alcoholic.

You're in a pre-trial intervention program for a DUI....and you didn't know you'd be tested for alcohol? Maybe I was wrong and you're not an alcoholic. You're just incredibly dumb.

To answer the question from the OP, if you're in pre-trial and fail the urine test for alcohol, they say there's a good chance they can kick you out of the program all together. However, I have had friends say they have failed the urine part more than once, and they didn't do anything serious to them. I guess it really depends on your probation officer or whatever, but it really isn't that hard to just not drink for 80 hours before your drug test and pass it, since that is how long it is in your body. I know a failing a drug test is serious, so I never risked it. I did "fail" a breathalyzer test when it was my car because I once took mouthwash before I drove and completely forgot about it. All they did for that is extend you having it in your car another month, and I had to take some Sudden Impact class for like $200. It kind of sucked but I didn't complain.

If you failed, I would believe they would tell you as soon as they get it, within like 1-3 weeks I guess. But if you don't hear anything from them, then you might have actually passed. I wouldn't put too much stock in what I say because I'm not 100% sure. I have never failed a urine test, just the breathalyzer in my car.

Yeah, if you hear a knock at your door, just don't answer it. You should be good.
