Just wondering about something that is not adding up to me. How are you already on probation without even going to trial? I thought the PTI(Pre-Trial Intervention) was to give you a chance to have the charges dropped, and once completed there would be no trial or probation.

I don't know if it's technically called probation or a probation officer, but it's basically the same thing. Probation before trial. If you follow all the conditions, no charges.

There are two ways to test for alcohol. You can use a breathalyzer test or you can use a U/A.

If this guy managed to fail either, he's probably a raging alcoholic. The burn off rate for alcohol is pretty fast. Keep in mind that tests have cutoff levels that allow for a low quantity to not be detected. Same goes for drugs.

Marijuana is the easiest drug to detect. It stays in your system for up to 28 days. Pot heads can't possibly control themselves for that long.

Is it typical to allow fails for marijuana on the first few tests as long as the levels decrease each test? As in you start the PTI a day after smoking, so they just test that you stopped at that point?

My alleged friend hypothetically had that happen

ETG can be detected for up to 80 hours at the far end of the range, but that is generally for those that are very heavy, consistent drinkers. If he only had a few, his body probably burned it off within the 41 hours he had between drinking and the test.

You failed it for sure. You will have to take the sudden impact class again. A friend of mine took it 3 times. You need to be alcohol free for 80 hours btw.

Yes but, the officer will most likely put you straight into drug class. That means increased testing for at least awhile.

Also 4/22 is national surprise drug test day. Every PO on earth knows this.

I just got done (like finished with charges dismissed, idk what the hell the DA's office was thinking keeping me in) with pretrial. I failed multiple breathalyzers and one drug test (alcohol, I didn't know alcohol showed up)

Don't fail another one, it's not worth it. Just don't drink the week before and you should be fine. Give yourself 12-16 hours after a night of hard drinking and you'll be alright on the breathalyzer. I'd also advise you to get a pocket breathalyzer.

They don't expect you to not drink. But they do expect you to have enough responsibility to piss/blow clean.

Don't be an idiot about it. Pretrial is a good way to get control of your drinking.

Usually they extend your probation, fail again and they will prob make you do rehad or go to jail, or both.

Just a side note, they can test up to 80 hrs after consumption. So if you got to take a test Monday, no drinking over the weekend.

Yeah if you drank on Sunday and tested on Tuesday, you failed.

That's 17 hours. There is no way three normally made drinks would be detectable after that much time. You drank a lot more than that.

You have a DUI, a failed test for Cocaine and now a second failed test for alcohol. You have a serious substance abuse problem.

I really hope you take responsibility and clean up before you destroy your or somebody else's life.

If I was your PO I would refer you for prosecution.
