Not if the company goes tits up within the next 30 years.

If you take the lump sum and invest most of it conservatively, you ought to wind up with more after 30 years than the annuity would total. Always take the lump sum.

That's assuming that you aren't investing some of what you get ever year with the annuity. From a financial standpoint, the annuity is better. But the risk of you not being in full control of the cash (bankruptcy, government etc) makes the lump sum better overall in my opinion.
