It's hard to say because difficulty varies per person.

Totally agree. I play guitar in a band and had never touched a keyboard. I can't read a lick of music either. Our piano player is a guitarist first and foremost but learned piano pretty quick when we had an opening.

Long story short, on one of our last gigs he wanted to come play my guitar on a song so I went to the keys and told him to show me where each chord was. Took all of 30 seconds. The song starts and I carried it pretty well, just providing fill.

I also play drums and bass. So difficulty definitely depends on the person. And now I really want to learn the piano. But I fail to see the connection to typing.

No, and I don't really care for that tone you are using. Please make a note of that.

Had a classmate in HS. He was an incredible pianist...i don't think he ever lost a competition he entered. Played with symphonies all over the south/east coast. He took "typing" his sr year and was over 110 words a min within 3 wks. I was in that class..I got to 45 words a min by the EOY. Not sure that answers your question other than...if you can play piano you can probably do well typing. Not sure it goes the other way though

Reading music is not hard at all. Just learn the basics (whole, half, quarter) and it all stems from there.

I haven’t played my instrument in years, but I can still pick up a piece of sheet music and hum it out.
