Weren't these called Tigers? I remember going to Toy Fair in Shreve City with my mom and getting a new pair at the start of school. It was a well know fact that the shoes made anyone that wore them run faster.

Sept. 13, 1935 - Howard Hughes, in his Hughes H-1 racing aircraft, set a world airspeed record (352 mph) and a transcontinental speed record across the United States. The non-stop flight from Los Angeles to New York City took 7 hours, 28 minutes and his average speed over the flight was 322 miles per hour.

The picture above is of a spot on the Western Front of World War I known as "Kilometer Zero." This is where the trenches of the infamous battle line of the First World War met the Swiss border. Switzerland was a neutral nation and, as you can see, the line terminates right underneath the hanging Swiss flag.
