This and the fact that this guy will never be a cop again. If he didn't screw up then he'd still have a badge. Anyone who thinks this cop made the right decision needs to answer why he's no longer an officer then.

Seems like after the officer tells him not to pull it out, he says "I'm gonna have to pull it out."

Where do you get that from? He said, "I'm not pulling it out."

Nah, sounds like Castile says he's going to have to pull it out.

He said "I'm reaching for it. I'm gonna have to pull it out."

Maybe his gun was in his pocket or something in the way of his wallet.

Uh, no. Again, where are you getting that from? Here's the relevant part of the transcript from a Fox station, so the typical TD denizen can't dismiss it out of hand.

LINK

quote:

PC Sir, I have to tell you I do have a...

JY Okay.

PC ...firearm on me.

JY Okay.

PC I (inaudible)

JY Don't reach for it then.

PC I'm, I, I was reaching for...

JY Don't pull it out.

PC I'm not pulling it out.

DR He's not...

JY Don't pull it out.

(gunshots)

Just listened to the video after reading that transcript, and I still heard "I'm gonna have to pull it out." Maybe that's my lying ears telling me what I want, I don't know, but it sounds pretty clear that he said that.

FWIW, I heard, "I'm not pulling it out." I searched for the transcript only after seeing "I'm gonna have to pull it out" repeated here several times.

Just listened to it again on the computer and I think you may be right.

I don't understand why people get so butthurt about a cop pulling someone over for not using a turn signal, having no taillight, or making a lane change without using a turn signal.

Yet you all are the same people laying on your horn whenever someone changes a lane without a turn signal and almost cuts you off and you didn't see it because they didn't use their signal.

It's not that hard to have your car in proper working condition if you don't want to get stopped. It just blows my mind that people have a problem with traffic stops that remove drugs and other contraband from the streets.

You realize I'm not talking about simple possession of weed, right?

So you legitimately have a problem with traffic stops that lead to the removal of drugs like meth, heroin, etc from the streets?

And regardless of your views if you don't want to be stopped have your shite in proper operating condition and you won't me stopped.

Someone please explain why the frick Castille wouldn't have moved the gun or taken his license out before the officer walked up? Holy hell, if you are going to carry a firearm you don't act stupid. If I'm pulled over I get out my license and insurance in my hand and put both hands on the steering wheel and I don't normally carry. This makes things stupid clear for all parties involved, and generally things go faster and I've never been ticketed while doing that.

If you are pulled over with a gun in the car, you tell the officer immediately while having your hands on the steering wheel the whole time.

I do have a problem with the law being manipulated in such a way that a tailight is the probable cause needed that leads to a drug bust.

Agreed. Doesn't mean I agree with the practice.

He just fired his gun and killed someone.

How many people have you killed? Do you know what the adrenaline does to you body and brain?

Might be the first time someone has ever "respectfully disagreed" with me on the internet.

Yeah, taking a life like that is a pretty traumatic experience. 99% of people would act the same way.
