You're the only person who has mentioned this, and that's weird it took 3 pages.

I don't ask for no ice in restaurants, but I don't put ice in my cup sometimes if I'm grabbing a drink to go and filling it myself.

I also hate a canned drink over ice at home.
The ice melts quickly and the water sits at the top. Gross.

Same reason I can't drink mixed drinks without a straw. It's a big gulp of water unless you drink it all immediately.

One time I had a 2 inch long piece of green wire come out with the ice at McDonalds. I'm thinking that maybe getting ice at restaurants isn't the best idea.

At actual restaurants the people handling all the dirty dishes usually have to load the ice up in buckets and distribute it to the drink stations. Ice at the bar is some of the dirtiest ice you'll ever come across.

Fountain drinks on the road are best with no ice because it will invariably melt before being finished. Plus you get more.
