Paul Ruud vs Stephen Hawking in quantum chess

A new video of the two squaring off in a match of quantum chess. "I'll crush you like an ant, man," Hawking warns in one of many feisty disses. Rudd calls his opponent "Eddie Redmayne."

Very entertaining and cool, but there's no way that Rudd could've forced a checkmate with only a bishop and Hawking's king free to move.
I know that we're only given two (possibly three) of the piece's quantum powers (queen can move twice, king can take be super positioned, maybe bishop can pass through other pieces taking advantage of entanglement), but still there should be at least 6 possible moves for the king with a total of 12 if Hawking uses the superposition gamble.
