No excuse policy had both my kids graduating near the top of their class in hs and with honors in college.

It is far easier for these parents to attack the process and blame the school than it is for them to parent their children and hold them accountable. Path of least resistance. These same 'parents' actually believe that what they are doing is, in some way, beneficial to their child. If you want to see the results of this line of thinking just look at the little shuts that tried to occupy the administrative building on the Ohio State campus.

If they actually are putting forth effort, its kinda hard to get mad at them if they are trying. If they are just being lazy then yes I would get pissed off.

In college its way easier to get C's due to how difficult courses can be and how absurd the teachers are. Depends on the situation.

I'm not a teacher but maybe you should be 100% honest with the parents? Is it legal to videotape your class so you can show the parents? If not it should be.

Don't have kids but some of the things my niece has come home with have been beyond dumb.

Helped her with her homework the other day. Conversions between fractions, percentages, and decimals. No problem.

But a grid of 240 conversions, followed by color coding answers to create a picture in said grid is a little excessive imo.
