Hopeful Doc, thanks for the advice. She has an appointment in two weeks and I will go with her and bring up the subjects that have been stated in your reply. Great post.

Mine used to be that low when I worked out daily and ate a bodybuilding diet backed by broscience. I was tired and dizzy all the time. Eating healthier and gaining 10 pounds helped a lot.

Well I think we got it figured out...

Barely to page 2 and she has been diagnosed with AIDS, Ebola, and chlamydia...and the main remedy that has been prescribed is a dose of PIIHB.

Problems solved. Next?

I'm curious to read the advice you are given because your wife and I have the same problem. Early 40s, 5'3", 110 lbs., exercise regularly, get decent amount of sleep (between 7-9 hours/night) but I have SUPER low BP and I am pretty much tired all the time and feel like crap.

My BP usually runs from 80-85 over 60-65. Even when I was pregnant, I never got over around 100/70. Actually, I think the highest reading I ever had was 95/70.

My heart rate is usually around 55-60 BPM.

Had my thyroid and hormone levels checked, nothing.

I did have super low blood sugar - can't remember the number but it was low enough that the pathologist called personally to see if I passed out that day.

It's kind of frustrating because docs don't seem to take low BP seriously and are all "You should be thankful it's not extreme the other way". I get that but when I know I get enough sleep and exercise and eat healthy 90% of the time and still feel tired and crappy all the time, it's frustrating to be brushed off.

Good luck to your wife and if the doc finds anything conclusive, be sure to give an update.

Your BP should decrease during a healthy pregnancy.

You're not being brushed off; isolated low BP probably just isn't the cause of your problems, and most doctors suck at explaining things. If it's always been like that and the feeling like crap is new (which seems to be what you're describing), then your feeling like crap is unrelated to your BP. If you used to run 120/75 and in the last two years have felt bad and also have a BP of 80-85/60-65, then you probably have an issue. In a petite woman who's always ran 85/60, it's not all that concerning.

If you're really concerned about the way you feel, you should follow up with your doctor about your concerns until you've been given a satisfactory answer. He cared enough to draw thyroid functions on you. He apparently wasn't concerned about more severe causes of your symptoms because, I am guessing here, you are up to date on your cancer screenings and don't have any other pertinent comorbidities or significant family history of disease. Unfortunately, sometimes we just become more tired and feel less good each day simply because we are getting older. We don't have all the answers, and it's frustrating. But, on the bright side, not having the answer usually means it's not a life-threatening condition.
