I have no problem with it. She looks hot. I just don't like how they make a big deal about it, but I guess I'll allow it since it's a first. All firsts make the news. The media does love Islam too much, though.

So she's just another self-absorbed pageant contestant who just happens to be a devout worshiper of Islam...
So if this is not a "scholarship" pageant akin to Miss America, then why would you alter the evaluation of a contestant's aesthetic beauty?
I understand why the objectification of the female body in a charade such as Miss America might seem hypocritical, but this is a straight-up beauty pageant.
In bodybuilding shows there is no essay portion of the contestant. There is no question round or IQ evaluation. Participants are judged solely on the appeal of their figure.
If this competition seeks to solely determine who is the most beautiful or attractive pageant contestant, then why would you require these females to cover up (i.e. transition from bikini round to "workout attire")? I'm not saying they have to flaunt their areolas or genitalia, but I don't see anything inappropriate about wearing a bikini...except for the fact that the competition comprises the age group 14-19; does anyone else see an issue with critiquing the physical appeal of a minor or adolescent? But that's a whole other issue.
Also, who determines what is "workout attire" and what is not? Some females dress like damn near strippers in the gym. Others dress much more modestly. So who is allowed to decide what outfit crosses the line?
Finally, I have no problem with a Muslim participating in one of these competitions. However, she needs to realize that she cannot win. Just because she chooses to epitomize her religious values, that doesn't mean that her unwillingness to adhere to pageant guidelines will not cost her. Why not participate in a pageant more concerned with intellect, philanthropy, and legitimate talent?
If a shy bodybuilder decided to perform their posing routine while fully-clothed, how well do you think that would go over?
