Just work through it. I do drink the p90x results and recovery formula. It tastes really good.

I take the results and recovery too. It almost seems to cure the soreness right after drinking it. Plus it's delicious.

When it wears off, ibuprofen and foam rolling works wonders.

I drink the recovery drink as well and sit in my Jacuzzi tub at night with the jets on for a while. That seems to help, but ultimately you are going to be sore at the beginning if you are doing it right. Especially someone like me who is not in the best shape. I love how my whole core is sore and not just my abs and I haven't even done one crunch or situp. that's how you know the program is for real.

No, I used it when I did the original P90X after every workout about 3 years ago and I went from 216 to 183.

Just wanted to report that I went to the gym last night with my buddy. He works out regularly. I felt like a piece of shite. We worked tris and pecks and abs and did 15 minutes on treadmill....thought i was going to die on the ab part.......as someone just totally out of shape and never worked out should i just try to go do like 30 minutes of cardio a day for like a month without working out first? Maybe that will get me in a little better shape so im not wobbling on the weights on the last set.

I am very out of shape as well. 6-1 225lbs.

I find that not having good flexibility and balance hinders me more than being out of shape.

I would recommend just biting the bullet and getting the P90X3.

Modify for the first 90 days as required and HOPEFULLY balance and flexibility will be restored.

I love the 30 minute time frame. Anyone can suffer through 30 minutes!

I am 6'1" 216 at the moment. Totally out of shape and P90X will help with the balance and flexibility. I am looking to get down to about 190 by the end of my 90 days. It is very doable. I did it last time and followed the diet loosely. I like to have a few beers everyday so that is my kryptonite when it comes to loosing weight. I dropped 30 lbs the 1st go around last time without giving up my beer (although I cut back some.)

I am a beer drinker also. I am trying my best to cut back some.

Weekends are rough. I like the fact that I started on a Sunday. This lets me have Saturday as my day off.

Speaking of that, do yall plan to rest or do dynamics on your day off?

Diet is 75% of this workout…hope everyone has been following the nutrition guide to a T!

I've done really well so far…I drank 5 beers during the Saints game but it's the only beer/liquor I've had in the new year so far. In order to be successful, you will need to have a checkmark by the diet box and the workout box…also, read the nutrition guide carefully…a lot of people THINK they are eating healthy but they aren't

Here are 3 examples of my diet:

Breakfast - egg white ham omelet with veggies and fresh fruit
snack - apple
lunch - spinach grilled chicken salad
snack - 2 servings pistachios
dinner - grilled salmon with quinoa

breakfast - organic oatmeal with almond milk
snack - 2 organic waffles with peanut butter
lunch - grilled shrimp PHO
snack - banana
post-workout drink: 2 scoops of syntha 6, 1 tablespoon of peanut butter & banana blended with ice and water
dinner - Mediterranean salad with grilled chicken

breakfast - organic waffles with peanut butter
lunch - spinach salad with strawberries, granola, carrots, grilled chicken, light vinaigrette, light feta
snack - pumpkin seeds
post-workout protein shake (just 2 scoops of syntha 6)
dinner - vegan curry with quinoa (instead of rice)

Anyone know of a place to get it cheaper than Amazon?
Amazon has it for $139.80. Beachbody has it for the same (includes $20 shipping), but Beachbody charges sales tax, which is damn near 10% in my locale.

TIA

OK, the diet is a big problem for me. I'm 36 with a wife and 2 kids. I cook for the family every night. I'm just not going to cook a good meal for them and not eat it. I drink a 12 pack a weekend. I need something where i can eat what I want, but just do more to drop some pounds.

Sounds like P90x is not for me.

FIFY

if you are going to eat whatever you want, then the only thing working out is going to do is prevent you from gaining more weight…you're not going to lose weight eating unhealthy.

And that's being optimistic. The ugly truth is you can't outwork a bad diet. Period.

I plan on resting. I started on a Monday b/c I want Sunday as my rest day. Saturday is usually my drinking day. I plan on doing my workout Sat. morning and then doing my regular Saturday routine which is watch football and drink beer or play golf and drink beer, depending on the season. During the week I will usually have just a glass of wine with dinner, but I have suppers with friends every Thursday night and I drink plenty of beer then. I did this 3 years ago and the weight came off, so I will try it again.
