I'm telling you guys. frick holding up somewhere trying farm shitty veggies and defend your shitty little plot of land from bandits. I'm going to be smuggler, dealer, gun for hire. You're a warlord with a small army and need guns or ammo? I can get you that. Need to defend your homestead from a vicious warlord and need some guns or ammo or claymores? I'm your guy. Pay on time and cause no trouble, you'll get good service. Don't pay or try to be a dick, I'll kill you, sell your food, ammo, and daughters to someone else.

Seaplanes won't work on the river, though. That 240 sounds good. So would a couple of old LAWS. But, will have to pass it by the rest of the group before we talk.

I am a Medic... I don't think I'll have problems surviving. I'd probably head straight for the nearest ambulance substation. Borrow a unit and clear their supply closet... There will be enough "marksmen" but not many people who no what to do when the marksmen get shot!

Nice! My wife is a USN nurse and former corpsman who has spent a few tours treating that stuff. We are good, though. However, I am sure there may be some room in our sanctuary got someone with your skill set. Not a guarantee, though.,,

Haven't read through but I'm guessing most people don't have a real defined long term plan, myself included. Food, water, first aid, defense. Long term, food is a huge issue. Saying "I'm going to my family's 1000 acres" doesn't really answer it.
Personally, we have family land with some pastures that's been useful for farming and seems fertile. We have some seeds and some knowledge about farming but that's it. Decent hunting and fishing but nothing for long term without some kind of development.
So the honest answer for long term is not much of a plan really, food wise. A blank canvas with a lot of room for development but if something happened right now we might be in a fix.
