Live entertainment is always fun. Bands, plays, etc.
It's amazing how much you don't talk when you're married, so a simple night at Starbucks drinking coffee and talking.
Bowling
Shopping for furniture, cars, etc in a casual fashion.

My main thing is that we don't necessarily have to be entertained or fed, we just like to go see what life is like out there without kids.

We have a date night usually once a week. Also a weekend or two a year go stay/play in the quarter, drinking, buying shite and enjoying the time.

Sometimes it's off to downtown BR for a night. Lucy's, Boudreaux & Thibs. Tsunamis. Whatever

But it's something.

Used to go to Evangeline Downs but that's been a while.

Now the kids are older, it's easier. Especially when they are at friends for the weekend and it's just us. But those days are not many and way too short.

We never go see movies. Too easy to stay home and do that comfortably.

We usually go to the arcade at the bowling alley. She loves watching me wreck all the games. I stack up all my tickets I've won and buy her something nice with them before we leave.

Married couples with young kids that need ideas for date nights? Oh and cheap.

I'm thinking he meant other the Benadryl for the kids and a couple bottles of wine at home in Mardi Gras cups for mommy & daddy.

I used to work 2 blocks from Collettes. It was always hilarious to watch obvious first time couples or singles walking into that place.

We do touristy stuff. Anything from a ghost tour to an airboat ride. We also enjoy shopping on Magazine and Royal so that is always fun. Also enjoy going to local museums, or going to a plantation.
We are pretty good at finding date ideas. The escape my rooms have been fun as well.
