Customer #1 owes you money or your widget.

I just went through this...mine were related to office and equipment leases and not widgets.
If the buyer (X) is a reputable company, they will require the seller (Y) to list all contracts, leases, etc., prior to the sale. If X does not need the equipment (or in my case, office leases and office equipment leases) then the contract is between you (the owner of the widgets) and Y. Y is responsible for returning the widgets to you.
If X needs the equipment then a new contract will be drawn up between X and the widget owner and the contract between you and Y will be terminated in writing. All of this is usually spelled out upfront in the purchase contract between X and Y.

Possession is nine-tenths of the law. Too bad you need help as to the final tenth of the law.

Common sense here buddy. They sold something you own outright. Either get your widgets back or approach the new owner with about a new contract. If the new owner wants to do business elsewhere get your shite back

Why? And How? Unless Its stated in the sale

Think it may depend if there is a change of control clause.

You are overthinking this. Just ask them if they will give the dildos back

That’s what I’m saying but some parties think that this new customer is obligated to hold said contract from old customer.

Did the owner buy the asset only or the company owning the asset?

We have a contract with the original customer who had the widgets on his vessel. We still own the widgets. They just stay in their vessel.
Are all the widgets in use or do they carry an inventory on the vessel of your widgets?
