I have about an 18 month old LG dryer model DLE1101W. I was flooded back in August. The unit maybe got 6" of water around it. I tried running it for the first time this weekend and it clearly is making a noise it has never made before. The one year warranty is up and LG wants $355 for another one year warranty. I am not even sure that would cover any replacement parts. I can't see doing that. It has to be something simple. I can get the same unit brand new from Best Buy for $500. But I have to think this is a simple fix. Once it starts the cycle, the noise starts. So it's happening when the drum starts rotating. If I pause, or stop the cycle, the noise is gone. Could this be the drive belt maybe? Any advice would be great and TIA!

I'm guessing you didn't have flood insurance.
First thing I would do, is lookup the model and find all the YouTube videos on it. They have some good disassembly videos out there.
Flip it and see if you can visually see anything on the bottom.
There really isn't much to dryers. You can take them apart and put them back together in about an hour.

My LG dryer started making a high pitch sound while the dryer was on. I ended up changing the rollers and the felt that lines the drum. It was a pretty easy fix that cost less than $100 for parts.

. Great YouTube videos and they are easy to take apart. The heating element and all the fuses are all on the bottom of mine under 6 inches, so they all may need to be replaced. Found them all online for like $60-80 for 4-5 fuses and the element.

This is a decent website with parts and troubleshooting. I put in your dryer model and selected "dryer makes noise".

What noise is it making? Was it moved during the flood?

Ya man, I've fixed my stuff a bunch just watching YouTube.
Saved me a ton of money.
Maytag Bravos suck. Bought mine and they had the highest rating on consumer reports. In reality, they just suck. Luckily, my repairs have been cheap ones.
