not sure why in the hell people use this when selling items.
for example: car for sale....5000.00 or best offer
does the seller think that someone will go and say, frick it......i'll give you 5k?
just put the bottom line price and be done with it.

Because people like to feel like they are getting a good deal buy talking you down. To let them do that you have to start with a price above what you are willing to take.
