Ahhh.. I see. Not much chance for you to get in trouble over that. Any idea as to who that might be. I know a few of the operators around here.

disagree. 55mph is very appropriate for a divided 4 lane federal highway.
There is certain criteria that is used to determine speed limits. I have no idea what it consists of. It's just my opinion based on years of driving.

I normally like higher numbers than posted and do go through closer to 60 when lights are green and traffic is light.

Still for some reason 55 seems too fast for the piss poor drivers of this day .... of which I might be one.

PRAIRIEVILLE – A man has been arrested after a deadly five-vehicle crash involving a dump truck occurred at the intersection of US 61 and Post Office Road in Ascension Parish.

The crash resulted in the death of 60-year-old Kathie Polite and the arrest of 59-year-old David Henley.

The investigation conducted by Louisiana State Police revealed that the crash occurred on Friday morning as Henley was traveling northbound on US 61 in a Mack dump truck. As Henley approached the intersection, he failed to stop for the red traffic signal and drove through the intersection.

Assuming he isn't drunk or on drugs, do people serve jail time for running a redlight and getting in an accident with a fatality?

The pic isn't that clear - hard to read to be sure. Does kind of look that way, but does anyone know for certain?
