They had over 30 political parties in Germany at the time. The Nazi Party received 44% of the vote, making them easily the leading party. They created a majority coalition with the conservative DNVP Party, who were rabid anti-Marxists. When you have that many parties or candidates in a proportional representation system as Germany had, you do not see majority winners in competitive elections.
The Nazi Party and Adolf Hitler had very widespread support at this time in Germany. To suggest otherwise is simply untrue or uninformed.
