quote:I believe said cop reached in and punched him in the face for not cutting the vehicle off. Cummings panicked and hit the gas. Drunk and coked out, I very well might've done the same at 20 years old. Really a bad situation all around.
The cop stopped and pulled him over, and when the cop reached into his vehicle he slammed on the accelerator to run away and dragged the cop 200 yards to his death

And everyone says people who live in Louisiana drink and drive too much

Why would a cop reach into the car?

He didn’t just reach, he punched him in the face and jumped in the window.
Said cop had previous incidents of excessive force.
And Dan didn’t know he killed him. Told his friends he thinks he might’ve broken his leg.
Also said cop was the UPD drug dog cop that walked the drug dog through my dorm speaking German to it. Sad situation. Terrible all around.

Yes it’s sad a drunk and drugged up individual drug an officer to his death
I’m just pointing out two people have pseudo blamed the cop on this page
ETA: we are just going to fight about this so we might as well stop
Or
Grab some beers and argue all night

No doubt. Nothing but good times had there by me.
Even though I hate their football team with a passion passed on by three generations.
At least you married the girl you met there

Serious question, was the dead cop able to give testimony on exactly what happened from his perspective? I must have missed it
ETA: now you straight up blamed the cop for the situation

I rooted for LSU sports while there. It’s a weird dynamic. I loved my time and friends at Ole Miss, but grew up hating their sports teams too. Just had to leave Baton Rouge and loved Oxford.

If he would've followed protocol and given the kid his DUI and/or possesion charge instead of trying to be a tactical badass, I'm sure he would've been. It really is a sad chain of events that unfolded. A black eye for Ole Miss that could've and should've been avoided.
I will not be commenting any further on this matter.

How do you give someone a dui without them first turning off their car and exiting the vehicle?
What should a non badass do if an intoxocated and drugged up person won’t get out the vehicle?

Definitely not normal but I grew up a mile from LSUs campus and my mom taught there. I walked to the football games my entire life and I went to LSU college bars my senior year in high school.
I just wanted a new social scene.
