I have a buddy that’s 33, never been married, no kids. And I honestly think he’s at the point in life where he has no interest to start a family. Multiple factors here:

-he plays golf 2-3 times a week
-his options at his age and his area is either younger girls who are all about the social media lifestyle or women his age who are divorced and have kids.

I personally don’t blame him for not wanting to settle down.

Marriage is a raw deal for men.
Everyone knows it, but you're not allowed to say it.

A wife is nothing more than a girlfriend that's been granted legal rights to your assets.
How do I benefit by signing a contract that says if my girlfriend breaks up with me that she gets half of everything I own?
How do I benefit by signing a contract that says if my girlfriend breaks up with me that I have to continue paying her bills via alimony?
Not to mention that she gets assets & alimony even if I do nothing wrong, even if she cheats.

Make it make sense.

Married at 41. Just had our second child this year. Planning to have more. It can happen.

If you're hitting up Tinder and Match.com and Bars...sure this makes a lot of sense.

If you are a normal guy seeking a normal girl who might have made similar choices to seek marriage late, find some new hobbies... and if it's online change your apps/targets. Those girls exist too.

I personally think it has something to do with if you get free milk on a schedule you’re satisfied, then why buy the cow?

I’ve seen this play out with female friends of our kids. It’s really sad. They find themselves alone at 40+ years old.

Point taken

If you want actual advice, I can give it, it was just a quick response, offer of some level of hope.

So what do you do? What are your hobbies? Go to church or not? Live in a city or a small town? You are surrounded by divorcees, obese ladies and bad decision makers? Why?

Don't worry I won't tell you to "be yourself," that's generally awful advice in a vacuum. You're going to have to change something.
