My dad had a side business "installing" VCR's. People would pay him $50-$100 to hook their VCR's to the TV.

We couldn't afford a VCR. I remember you could rent one from the video store. We would rent one and about 5 movies on the weekend.

I forgot about those tvs! My dad had one that was old as f**k! I forgot at one point they had this appearance to all tvs. He kept his forever. It lasted like my entire childhood!!

They weighed 500 pounds. Once it broke people would just use it as furniture rather than move it.

Did you have the console tv with the record player in the top? My older sister had one of those. I thought it was the coolest thing ever.

I had the personal "juke box" that had lights that flashed to the beat of the music. With an 8 track player of course.

Yeah, I had a bigass Curtis Mathes console TV. No remote.
