Aren't y'all glad we got that special extra tax assessment for the S&WB? I'm sure that money went to good use. Not to mention the cost of the water service is 2x the cost in Jefferson.

Tell me this doesn't remind you of Latoya:

How about the Entergy connection which isn't producing the proper amount of electricity to generate these pumps correctly. So even the 53% is not an accurate number its much lower.

This city is just insanely inefficient and fricked up. The incompetence from top to bottom is unprecedented.

So no wonder Grant retired. He didn't want this.

And Im torn between how I think Becker came into this meeting.

Either A: he knew he'd have to be a sleazy piece of shite and he enjoys that. Hes the corporate fall man.

Or

B: mitch and grant pumped him up and told him this is a good opportunity to get some publicity but behind his back planned to throw him to the dogs and he walked into a bandsaw without knowing it.

Which do yall think it is?

At Station 7 they had pumps that went out for 15-20 minutes too! So now even more shite is coming out.

He certainly isn't enjoying himself right now. He's probably the smartest guy in the room and he can't get out of his own way.

I don't know. You take Mitch's incompetence, the statue debacle, the waste of funds, the bourbon Street corruption, this flooding event, and the S&WB fall out and maybe the population will wake up enough to address the corruption and bullshite running rampant through New Orleans politics. But I have absolutely no faith that that will happen.

53% pumping capacity combined with a lower electricity feed into the pumping station PLUS now we are adding in the other pumps at 7 which are tripping and shutting down for 15 to 20 mins each equals an unmitigated disaster and flood.

Glad we upgraded the system after Katrina!

I think it dawned on him about 10 minutes ago.

His demeanor when he started was happy and cocky. Like he thought he'd just get some softball questions and read some prepared statement and be done. And now he's getting thrown into the wood chipper. And he sounds defeated and depressed.

Grant already set him up with the statement about his subordinates not being forthcoming with info. He just got checkmated without seeing it coming.

No one in this room, other than the guy doing the testimony, has any clue how the city's pumps work.

That doesn't excuse the S&WB debacle, but it is painful to watch.
