A few years ago we had an issue with a family who let their young kids ride four wheelers on the streets of our neighborhood. They were using the roads as their track, not as a way to get anywhere. And even though we live in a cul de sac, those kids were driving recklessly on the wrong side of the street, weaving back and forth, and running stop signs at cross roads. It was only a matter of time before the kids got hit or they hit someone or another kid.

We talked to the parents a couple of times, mostly about their kids' safety but nothing changed. The last time we again expressed our concern and told them we would start calling the police. HOA sent out notices and put something in the newsletter about the noise and how it was illegal and neighbors should call the police. Everyone must have started calling because it eventually stopped after a couple of months.

I'm a big proponent of solving issues directly with neighbors but there will always be people who just don't care. I agree with a previous poster, want to live without regards to neighbors? Buy acreage.

Guess the little bastards piss me off by running up and down our streets on electric golf carts aren't all that bad after all!

We had this issue in our neighborhood too. Neighborhood cracked down after kids ran into the HOA president's a brand new BMW parked on the street and left a huge dent.

Where are you at? It's illegal to ride dirt bikes on the road.

I know that. That's why I made the remark that there seems to be a list of laws that don't get enforced. I'd like to know what they are so I can enjoy also.
