People grossly overestimate the amount of money you need to be happy.

Definitely no debt. I don’t have a ton of accounts right now, but no mortgage, no car note, and a couple of smaller personal loans being gone frees up over $2k per month for me. I would either sell my house at current marker value and pay cash for a different place, or just stay put and enjoy it after doing some renovations. Kitchen remodel, new deck, new roof, circular drive out front, and close in the upstairs den for another bedroom are all in the plans at some point, and putting 1k a month toward that would go a long way. Stick the rest in long term, low risk investments and I retire to Fairhope much earlier.
