Nigerian Princes Are Getting Sophisticated and Earning Degrees

Just got an email, hit everyone in my office actually, claiming to be a Docusign document from an Elizabeth Bartholet from a Harvard.edu email address.
Obvious phishing right?
I looked up the name. The person is legit, even has a Wikipedia page.
That made me blink.
Until I found out everyone in the office got the same email.
Good for those guys getting an education, someone must have finally helped them claim their inheritance.

That person's e-mail probably got hacked. She may have no idea those are being sent.

Yeah, I sent her an email letting her know her email was being used in a phishing scam.

My office uses that program as well. 80/20% chance it could be real. Feeling lucky?

You should totally send them 20k bucks. It's legit.

PGM... on a separate and more personal note... wwyd if you suspected someone of bipolarity or similar, but they deny anything is wrong and tell everyone else they're being crazy for recommending help?

It's quite simple to send an email from a cloned email address. You don't have to hack their email. Though if they respond, you won't get it

Well, barring getting them committed or sent to treatment, I would have them keep a simple mood calendar. Smiley for a good day, straight line for a normal day, frown for a bad day. Emphasize this is for overall mood, not just because someone at work made them mad or they found a twenty dollar bill on the ground. See if there's a noticeable pattern after a few months.
Bipolar isn't something a therapist or psychiatrist can recognize in one session. It sometimes takes months, but the mood calendar is something they can do at home and use when they go in...if they go in.
Bad thing about bipolar is that we're all junkies. We're really addicted to our highs, and we don't want to give them up, even if that means being unable to get out of bed or function for weeks at a time. So, it's tough get us into treatment outside of a life changing event like I had.

Not a problem. I'm no expert. Just a bit of lived experience.
