That's what I'd like to know. Are attorneys allowed in small claims courts in Louisiana?
Also, I'm appalled at the price. Most states charge less than $50. Some as low as $24 from what I read online.
And are prices different in different cities? My brother used small claims court a couple of times years ago when he owned a business to sue customers who didn't pay and he said it was only $50 in Rayne.

But it's still a deterrent to some people. In my opinion, it should be much lower.

The answer is yes.
I called the courthouse in Lafayette this morning and was told that they have all of the paperwork there. Haven't had a chance to go yet.
