When batteries are going bad,they smell like sulfur sometimes.

I thought about this also. I haven't gotten underneath it check the differential. Could be that seal but I haven't noticed a differential leak.

Mine is dying. I bought another one last week just waiting for it to go out. I should change it and see what happens.

more like axle seals. When the diff fluid gets in the brakes it smells pretty bad.

I'll just check it all and see what I find. I'll try the battery first since I own one and it needs changing.
