I am surprised that someone mentioned Accounting as a regrettable degree, while Finance is on the least regretted list?
We have a young family friend who got the 5-year masters degree from Texas A&M, he had several great opportunities to choose from, went with KPMG, has gotten a sizable raise his after his first year on the job and is liking it.
The conventional wisdom around here is that an accounting major can get hired to do anything a finance major can, but not the other way round.
Seems like a quite a few finance and general business majors wind up selling insurance or cars or working at Starbucks.

Accounting is not on there but business administration is on the good side. I guess I am okay.

I'm a controller with a business management degree. I already had the job when I went back to school but it gave me more options and negotiating power with my boss. Starting my MBA in March, hope to finish in 6 months. I'm on a CFO/SVP track and the MBA will count more at this point than going back for a second bachelor's in accounting.
My ex-h got the #1 most regretted degree and then spent the next 7 years working for minimum wage at a local news radio station. It's been 15 years since he graduated and his student loans are higher now than when he graduated because he had to defer payment due to inadequate pay and a few years of being unemployed.
