A drone the size of a mosquito? What would it use as a power supply? What about the antenna for telemetry? I can think of a lot of words to describe that project but easy would never be one of them.

The development of the mechanical system is much easier on a larger scale replica, but to implement a stable controller into that thing means you need sensors and a processor and actuators to make the thing move. When you scale it down so small, I don't think nanotechnology has the capabilities right now to make it fly anyway.

They literally had intel cameras disguised as tigerr droppings in the Vietnam War because they knew the natives wouldn't pick up feces.

That's the 60s. Imagine what they have now

See the movie "Eye In The Sky" for what it would look like if it were real. Entertaining to watch, but still science fiction AFAIK.
