Makes me think this is based on changes in assessed property values. My assessed value went down 50k when EBRPA revised them after the flood.

They appear to be. I think the rental market, which has always been strong, is just just on fire right now. Those rental prices after the flood are driving up real estate costs.

But there will be some uninsured people that will walk away from their mortgages this year because of flood damage.

This is not alarming. Many folks took out additional loans to fix their homes due to the flood. If this was new construction, I would be worried - but it is not.
