We were in Biloxi, lights were above the interstate, we could see no other stars. Def. not a shooting star.

Well it certainly sounds like they did! It would be extremely unlikely to have 3-4 unrelated events like that; and the east-to-west travel matches the locations of the observers.
Meteors are typically 50-75 miles up; but a really bright one that just skims the atmosphere could be even higher.
I think we can be almost certain that all these observations where the same meteor.
